Our Silkie Hen’s Choice Hatching Eggs are collected from the breeding pens here at Laree Ranch and packed as a surprise assortment based on what our hens are laying at the time of your order.

Hen’s Choice is perfect for anyone who loves the fun of the hatch and doesn’t mind letting the girls decide what goes into the incubator.

What You May Receive

Your assortment will include eggs from a variety of our Silkie breeding projects, colors, and feather types. Because this is a Hen’s Choice assortment, specific colors, varieties, or traits cannot be requested or guaranteed.

Depending on our current pens and availability, chicks may hatch with a variety of colors and characteristics.

Please Know Before Ordering

Hatching eggs are exactly that: hatching eggs, not guaranteed chicks.

Fertility is regularly monitored within our breeding program; however, once eggs leave our care, many factors can affect development and hatch rates, including shipping conditions, temperature fluctuations, handling, incubator accuracy, humidity, and individual incubation practices.

For this reason:

• Fertility and hatch rates are not guaranteed

• We cannot guarantee the number of eggs that will develop or hatch

• We cannot guarantee chick color, sex, feather type, quality, or specific characteristics

• Hatching eggs are non-refundable and non-returnable

Silkies can also be notoriously unpredictable little creatures when it comes to hatching, so we recommend ordering hatching eggs for the experience and possibility rather than expecting a specific number of chicks.

Shipping & Handling

Eggs are carefully selected and packaged with hatchability in mind. We only ship eggs that are clean, intact, and appropriate for incubation at the time they leave Laree Ranch.

We cannot control how packages are handled once they enter the carrier’s possession, and shipping can sometimes result in damaged or detached air cells even when there is no visible damage to the package.

Allow shipped eggs to rest appropriately before incubation and follow the incubation method you are most comfortable with.

A Note From Laree Ranch

Our Silkie breeding program is something we’re continuing to grow, refine, and pour a whole lot of heart into. We breed with an eye toward beautiful birds, healthy structure, desirable Silkie characteristics, and some seriously fun color projects.

Every hatch is a little different.
